Je T’aime in a tiny package

I built the Je T’aime as a bit of an experiment. Part 1 was to build something that was basically the fewest parts to make an op-amp work, and Part 2, make fit in a 1590A enclosure. This circuit is the jumping off point for a million variations so I figured I’d build it stock first and then mess...

    Acetylene Overdrive

Labels are black vinyl from my wife’s Cricut.

    Acetylene Overdrive

Spray can and masking tape! The diamonds are the exact width of 1” painters tape. I just eyeballed the width. Went one way, let it dry and then did the cross hash.

    Acetylene Overdrive

I’m finally getting around to finishing pedals I started last year. Wanting a Vox-In-A-Box, I decided to build the Acetylene Overdrive. I populated the board back around Thanksgiving, did the off-board wiring back in December, and did the paint in January. I need to demo it a little more but...

    Mahayana IC

I’ve built a Mahayana and used a LM833. As said above, there are quite a few options with a dual opamp chip.

Pedal name generator, the pedal name roulette!

My “Mini Gain Licker” is closer to completion.

    Tommy III Build #2

Finally getting one of the pedals finished. This is the second Tommy III I’ve built. The first one I made was, for all intents and purposes, commandeered from me by my 21 year old son. I’ve had him demo just about everything I’ve built so far and then picked his brain on his favorites, with the...

    Indiana Tweed and Indiana Deluxe

I finally got these two finished. I started them over the summer but I needed a couple components that didn’t get ordered earlier. I built them simultaneously and basically tested them back to back. The Deluxe is definitely Fendery with a clean tone that will break up when you crank it. The...

    Dream Fuzz

Yes, all the graphics are vinyl. My wife has a Cricut. Once I figured out I could do the black, the white was just the negative.

    Dream Fuzz

I’m happy with how this one turned out. Since this is a reissue of the Op Amp Big Muff with a Smashing Pumpkins tie in and coloring on the original, I decided to do some word play on both and ended up with Pumpkin Pi(e). Build is stock, but the whipped cream ended up about perfect.

    Van Pelt Drive

Another finished up today. I couldn’t think of anything creative to do graphically, so instead I went stock. Plus there’s no mistaking what it is. No mods, just stock.

Permanent adhesive vinyl cut on my wife’s Cricut

Son Of Ben Preamp with gain switch mod

It’s vinyl. I used my wife’s cricut. It cuts it out on permanent adhesive vinyl. I put a clear coat over the top after. The gain switch isn’t drastic but usable. Each step up is just a little more drive. I would say that the 10u and 4.7 are perceived closer together than 0 to 4.7. If you wanted...

Son Of Ben Preamp with gain switch mod

When I decided to build this one I read a few threads here where discussing C10 in the build. C10 is an optional 10u capacitor on the original units but not on newer models. Rather that just put it on a switch, I used someone else’s suggestion and added a third option of another capacitor...

    Kliche Mini

I finally got around to finishing this pedal. It’s been a few months getting the off-board wiring done, and then paint and graphics. Does it need to be anything other than the classic? I decided to lean into the OG scheme as much as possible.
