I really slowed on the builds. I have a curds and whey on the bench that only needs to be wired, wires are already cut. I also have a muffler, kewpie, eq anyone and a cobalt (ala Chuck) that had all the resistors put in and I just soldered those. I wanted to complete something this week-end...

Not sure about the mpsa18, but you definitely should get the 5088, they are used in so many builds...

Bad news is something is wrong with this build. At first I said it was really not powerful for the supposed wattage compared to my wife ac4 playing at 1/4W... but now it's silent. I can get a signal if I use a preamp pedal in the fx return jack but thats about it. I need to take some voltage...

The transformer sits on top of the enclosure. There is only two holes with rubber grommets for the wires to go in the enclosure and four small holes to screw it on. Yae, my step drill was enough fot the valves. I think that enclosure is aluminum, so drilling was easy, for the plug i drilled a...

Just received one drilled at a 21 mm spacing ... it's still not perfect, they are a bit too close now. Maybe a 21.5mm spacing would place them in the right spot. Just letting you know if you did not made an order yet.

Sometime a silicon substitute could do the trick for some time until you are ready to source the ge one.

Looking back at it with fresh eyes this morning... 1mm too far apart. That one was drilled at 22mm distance and I already adjusted my drill template to 21mm but have not tested it yet... holes could be a little smaller if I was certain about the placement. Anyway, here it is ...

I had one but the spacing was not perfect... like maybe missing 1mm between holes. It's working though.

What's the meter your are using, I ordered a board a few weeks ago but was not fast enough to get the full kit. I figured with the drill template I'll be able to make it work, but will it fit without the faceplate ?
