I have no clue what he is saying. Anyone mind explaining to me exactly what the “Accent” and “Contour” controls are doing here. Even the original Zendrive has been a bit of a mystery to me.

What was the issue? I like it as well. Waiting on the transistors to come in for the Skylight overdrive I can’t wait to try it.

I’m not sure who told me that then. It may have been @HamishR Either way it’s really helped me.

I’m not sure about the rest of the group but I find once these pots are soldered it can be REALLY difficult to desolder it all the way without damaging something. You be better off just dealing with the linear pot or getting a new board. My soldering skills suck though so I maybe wrong.

Has anyone hear tried different clipping diodes in the and/or the skylight overdrive?

@MattG I went back and a/b the two pedal and they’re both very close in sound. The obvious sound differences is in the clipping diodes. If you put Bat41s, which is what I think the Bee Sting uses, in the the Royal Bkue they may be indistinguishable. I recommend trying it but socketing the...

I really wanna try this pedal.

I’ve haven’t heard them so I’ll have to take a listen. But for $400 a pedal WITHOUT a tube is a lot of money. I can almost buy an AC15 for that. With patience I probably could. Not bashing anyone…it’s your money. Just isn’t something I’m prepared to pay that much for.

You spent a pretty penny on those knobs but they look great. How do you like this fuzz compared to your basic FF and TB’s? Does it clean up with the volume knob?

Is the Burn Unit also Dumble or higher gain? There’s seems to be a lot of overlap in his pedals.

The Bee Sting is more transparent while the Royal Blue is more “rough around the edges” so to speak. To me the LEDs can get harsh if the eq isn’t tuned it properly. The Silver Bee can be useful set almost anywhere. I believe the Royal Blue has more gain on tap though. Hope that helps. I’d give...
