Nope, I built it stock. I should probably pop the back off and check the trimmers, maybe I have the bass dimed. :p I dig them both but for the edge of break up sounds on single coils to a nice light crunch on an HB man the Sliver sounds so natural.

Also, measure and sort your LDR's. A big bag of 5516's will have a lot of variance. Measure the light resistance, dark resistance and speed of recovery.

There's definitely a difference in my build. One sounds like a SHO and the other sounds like an Elektra. The SHO has more headroom and can really push an amp. The Elektra breaks up earlier. Those two controls are also interactive and there's a lot of good sounds by playing with the two then...

This thing has an incredible "thump" to me. Kinda sounds like playing through a 4x12. How they got that in a pedal is beyond me. Or it could be just a happy accident. This is a highly recommended build.

I get it, I keep saying I'm not a fuzz guy but I have like 30 fuzzes I've built and I'm down in the transistor rolling rabbit hole even as we speak (or type heh). I have a love/hate thing going on with fuzzes.
