    Deflector

Hello. I was wondering if the deflector was based on a particular pedal. I have found some posts claiming similarity with the EQD Afterneath. Would that be the closest production pedal? Just curious because I'm about to build one up.

Are the any soundbytes or videos available for the Deflector Reverb?

Thanks! This absolutely sold me. It actually sounds like there's delay in there too. Maybe that's just the modulation???

I'm very curious about this one. Thanks.

Double Jeopardy --- No Sound In JFET mode. Wait... I mean opamp mode.

UPDATE: I played around with this some more and discovered that UP is JFET mode, and DOWN is the Opamp. So I had it backwards. So I'll guess I'll be trying a new TL071. This is really the opamp used in the original? Seems odd b/c that is also JFET.

What are people using for a 2SC732 alternative?

Thanks! Sounds like the c-buffer board would be somewhat redundant, huh?

What are people using for a 2SC732 alternative?

What kind of buffer? The UberDrive appears to be true bypass unlike the SD-1. I ask b/c I'm considering using a C-buffer board.

What are people using for a 2SC732 alternative?

Wow thanks. I didn't see that one.

What are people using for a 2SC732 alternative?

Since they appear to be permanently out of production (please correct me if I'm wrong.) I need something for an UberDrive.

Double Jeopardy --- No Sound In JFET mode. Wait... I mean opamp mode.

Opamp mode working perfectly and sounds glorious, but the reason I picked this particular boost is to have the choice of two different sounds. I biased both transistors to within about 5% before plugging in a guitar. Very disappointed it was dead silent. Where can I start checking voltages?

    Zener diodes and wattage....

Thanks. It turned out that I wired the Awful Waffle wrong. I tried using a breakout board when the circuit isn't even true bypass. 🤦‍♂️

SOLVED Awful Waffle second attempt, LED won't light up

Haha... I figured it out. The Awful Waffle can't use the breakout board because it's not true bypass! SOLVED

SOLVED Awful Waffle second attempt, LED won't light up

Oh wait a minute.... what are P1 and p2 on the v1.95 layout???? Did I wire the switch wrong????

SOLVED Awful Waffle second attempt, LED won't light up

So I tried making a second Hot Cake PCB, and I'm having the exact same issue as the first board. I saw the LED light up when I plugged in my 9v adapter for about a split second and then nothing after that. I plugged a guitar in to check for life, and it sounded like a OD pedal but the volume was...

    Zener diodes and wattage....

Could this explain why the LED doesn't light up on both my waffles? Full specs of the zener here.

    Zener diodes and wattage....

Is there a minimum wattage for +9v pedals? I think this could explain an issue I'm having with my Awful Waffle. The 8.2w zener diode I'm using is rated at 400mw. Is this too low? Can I test a diode while it's soldered in a circuit? (yes, i realize this is troubleshooting sorta)

    Awful Waffle, extra 100k resistor?

Hello, I noticed that the AW has a 100k resistor not on the BOM, layout, or schematic. Can this spot be left empty, or does it need to be jumper-ed? I'm having trouble with the LED on a second awful waffle board. In both cases the LED won't light up with the proper +9v. I currently have the 100k...

    Is the FreakZEQ "buffered"?

Hmmm I guess I read it somewhere else on the internet??? So I guess I'm totally wrong about that. Oops.

    Is the FreakZEQ "buffered"?

According to the SA website the SOK is a buffered preamp. I realize the FreakZ is a stripped down version of the SOK, but is it still buffered? Anyways, would it make sense to use a c-buffered 3PDT if the pedal goes first in the chain?

SOLVED I can't locate a pcb short (Mahayana)

SOLVED I found the culprit. It was the 1N34A. I wasn't aware that a bad diode could cause a short. That was the problem entirely.
