Good point. I will just follow the schematic values for resistors but socket the JFET to make sure I get one that matches the circuit to function well.

Hey ya'all, I was going to combine some of the muffin crumbs and J201 buffer PCB to make my own frankenstein creation. I have done other builds with J201s and used the trim pots to help get it sounding right. Looking at the schematic for the buffer it doesn't appear to have trim pots...

if this does what i think it does, i will buy some to make my own EQ designs. basically will route the signal to multiple different crumb pre-amps, each with their own capacitors for different tones, then can blend them at the end. i'm excited!

i biased mine just by ear and it sounds great. if you just keep going around tweaking the trim pots you can get it sounding great even without breaking out the meter
