trouble with (multiple) Civil War muff builds

Is it just reverse? Or would you also need to cross the legs? Take the Google AI overview for what it's worth, but might be worth double checking.

SOLVED Chop Shop v2 - sag knob cutting off signal and ineffective drive knob

I don't know about fried, but I did wonder if one of those Jfets might have had a leg that wasn't stuck down. Not sure if that really makes sense with the behavior you're having, but a close inspection / quick touch up with the iron is an easy thing to try.

Stuff you wanted to know but were afraid to ask

Funny, I was going to say tape decks are one example where an unused machine might have some increased value just for the lack of wear on the heads. Unused certainly doesn't equate to "ready to go" in any old gear. In general I'm wary of anything that didn't get used. Guitars in particular -...

SOLVED Chop Shop v2 - sag knob cutting off signal and ineffective drive knob

Same set up with your multi meter, just put the red probe on the square pad of the sag potentiometer (pin1) and check the voltage there. Same way you’re doing with the trimmer test points. Adjust the sag control until you get the highest voltage reading you can get there, then proceed to adjust...

SOLVED Chop Shop v2 - sag knob cutting off signal and ineffective drive knob

Your meter set up looks correct. Did the part about setting the Sag pot for max voltage on pin 1 before doing the biasing make sense? If you’ve already done that, I’d double check that all your part values are correct. If you don’t have any errors there, read whatever you can find on the forum...

What did you set the trimmers to? Here’s what I had in my notes: Set Sag knob for max voltage at pin 1 of the pot (square pad) and adjust trimmers for 6v at the test points.

    IC Sockets

I’ve never tried pre-bending them. I just drop one row into the socket then nudge the second row into place with my thumb.
