wiring issues trying to add an extra blend circuit in an overdrive build

Im not sure i really understand what's happening between these two circuits, and i was probably wrong in post #9. And maybe it's a good exercise for beginners in audio electronics From what i experience with this wiring setup (see attached files), The first part of the Blender circuit from...

wiring issues trying to add an extra blend circuit in an overdrive build

Anyway, looks like i can put that blender to good use, when the trimmer is set at low value. And i also need to understand how the Fractal works, it's the first time i build this circuit. Thanks for your help !

wiring issues trying to add an extra blend circuit in an overdrive build

So the trimmer increase the blender output volume and this output volume goes into the Fractal overdrive circuit so i guess it's going to boost it... but i think it's weird that it doesn't also increase the clean volume, when the Blend control is fully CW, set on full clean signal ?

wiring issues trying to add an extra blend circuit in an overdrive build

Sounds like it only affects the overall volume, or maybe it boosts the wet signal when i turn the trimmer CW. It's not just louder, it's also more saturated, with more highs with the trimmer fully CW It doesn't increase the clean signal by itself, like i would expect. But with the trimmer...

wiring issues trying to add an extra blend circuit in an overdrive build

Thanks for your reply ! Looks like the DC jack positive leg's connection was bad, i managed to power up the circuit. I also modified the wiring a bit The Blend pot works, but the dry volume level is low compared to the wet volume. And the trimmer on the mixer circuit doesn't have any effect...

wiring issues trying to add an extra blend circuit in an overdrive build

Hello, Im trying to build Aion's Fractal with a "Blend me up" circuit. https://aionfx.com/app/files/docs/fractal_documentation.pdf https://www.five-cats-pedals.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/FCP-Blend-Me-Up-Insert-V1-0.pdf The Blend Me Up circuit came with its own 3PDT pcb, as shown in the...

SOLVED Aion Xenotron : Manual control issue

From what i can remember, there were 2 of them, both were wrong. I managed to temporarily fix it with the paper trick, i cant say for sure which led was on the BBD board at that time. what do you mean by "more diffuse" ? You should be able to tell if your BBD led is too bright, it will mess...

SOLVED Aion Xenotron : Manual control issue

From my experience it will work, but you will have issues. like a narrow spot on the Manual control (last quarter of rotation) where the modulation is noticeable, and gaps at the highest end of the sweep, where the modulation briefly disappears.

SOLVED Aion Xenotron : Manual control issue

according to the build doc there are a few different led that can do the job, so one of those can be right. Doesnt look like the ones i got though. I would try to send an email to Klaus with your picture, asking which one is the BBD led. That way you will clarify any doubts. In the meantime, i'd...

SOLVED Aion Xenotron : Manual control issue

looks like it's supposed to be green glass and read around 2V on diode test, according to mouser. So the picture is wrong.

SOLVED Aion Xenotron : Manual control issue

it's been almost 2 years so i could be wrong, i think the first BBD led they sent was different than the 3 other green leds, im not sure about the color. It's possible there were 2 extra led in the kit. i can remember trying a blue one with uncolored glass, and another with a different shade of...

SOLVED Aion Xenotron : Manual control issue

i'd try to check with the DMM, see if one of them isn't showing the same value as the others in my kit one of the leds was a bit different with transparent glass, i had to turn it on to see it was green. The others were regular green led. But the BBD led was a wrong match anyway, they sent me...

    What's your nemesis circuit?

I started building stompboxes in 2020, so i didn't have time to create a real Nemesis yet. Worst cases so far are : - Aion's Neurotron (Lovetone Ring Stinger), a big ring modulator circuit. One of the 4 waveforms wasn't working correctly. I tried my best to find the issue but it was really...

    Oxide Distortion (Ibanez MT-10 Mostortion)

Not sure the MT10 is the best suited circuit for diode experimentation, the original diode clipping setup is very good as it is. From what i understood about this circuit, its strongest points are the diode clipping design similar to the Timmy, and the 3-bands EQ. I also tried various diode...

    Reverb Preferences

I just tried it and it does some very good small room kind of reverb, but it can't do more than one repeat, so i guess any slap back delay will do the same effect.

    Reverb Preferences

I guess for the average diy builder, it's near impossible to use really good audio chips like the one we can find in factory stompboxes. From what i have seen so far, the usual digital path is FV-1, and it's very limited compared to what some other ICs can do. FV-1 is affordable, simple to use...

    Reverb Preferences

Im curently using PPCB Gravitation, Belton brick based, which is three PT2399 packed into one small part, if i understood correctly. Gravitation does its job, i like to cut some highs and aim for some dark reverb tones and the Gravitation controls allows that. But im not sure im fully pleased...
