    Tube Screamer Schematic Question

To add a caveat though, the size of the bypass caps dictates how "ideal" of an AC GND the rails and midpoints are. I've seen some filters be off spec because the midpoint was not low enough of an AC resistance to actual GND.

    Tube Screamer Schematic Question

There is no difference in circuit performance however from a layout perspective, ground will be tapped via a plane whereas vref would need a dedicated trace. Sometimes on 4 layer, one lay will be tied to vref but as far as I know, not common.

Boutique Pedal Manufacturers Are Feeling the Tariff Pinch

Boutique Pedal Manufacturers Are Feeling the Tariff Pinch

I got slammed with bank fees trying to order from pcbway this November? Any thoughts on this? Will it blow over?

Pitfalls and Tips: Designing effects PCBs

With high gain circuits, just as concerned. With lower gains like say 12dB end to end. Not so much. Fatter trace width decreases inductance for long runs but usually the culprit in our world is high impedance next to high gain / high Vpp.

Pitfalls and Tips: Designing effects PCBs

I had this happen with the electrical rule checker recently! I copied a circuit block from one schematic to another and didn't realize the virtual ground node was designated different. Had an open pin, had to toss the PCB spin. So adding ERC to the list too.

Designing PCBs with board mounted jacks

I'm thinking spin a rev with oversized enclosure holes and use calipers to measure x and y distances from jack thread to enclosure cutout.

Help needed with BTDR-2 reverb schematic

From what I see, the clipping diodes will form a DC path from vref to GND when the diodes are engaged. I would make the GND side of the diodes Vref assuming vref has a big bypass capacitor >=47uF.

    Redoing a Pedal

Sorry to push back but the volume/blend has worked for me on previous builds. It's true that volume loads down the blend but that's why volume pot impedance is a magnitude higher. I could increase further to reduce interactivity though. If I follow the opamp with volume then my output...

    Redoing a Pedal

Yeah I have the big muff wiper feed direct into a non inverting buffer. It worked on the last rev. SO did the blend and volume pots. I removed the blend pot to see if the volume control was acting as an antennae, somewhat is the case. After lowering some gains and the output bleed resistor to...

    Redoing a Pedal

I am fresh out of college. Less than a year deep in work. There are people on this forum who also work stem and for much longer than myself. Humility goes a long way. It's arrogant to assume I'm the smartest in the room. Furthermore if I'm building circuits in my free time on top of the...

    Redoing a Pedal

I measured wiper to each end at both CCW and CW for the blend pot. The level pot loads down blend so that 10k5 become 9k5 at max wet. SO upping my level pot to a 250k or 500k could help.

    Redoing a Pedal

Delay Out and Dry are fed direct from opamps. The opamps are biased to Vg, the DC midpoint. Delay out also feeds the feedback path which presents a minimum impedance of 1k.

    Redoing a Pedal

It is a custom layout and schematic. It's NOT high gain nor high impedance so I'm apprehensive that bleed is a crosstalk issue from layout. But, I can't see a bleed path in schematic.

    Redoing a Pedal

WHile this is a hobby project, I work MI so I have non competes against sharing the circuits I make 😔. Ik it's frustrating not having the circuit, I try to explain without pictures as best I can The blend pot is 10k followed by 100k volume. I will bypass the pots. Hadn't thought of that. Also...

    Redoing a Pedal

Bout to vent... I've been troubleshooting a pt2399 delay with a big muff tonestack. Custom build. The blend does not go 100% wet despite it being a pot to pan between dry and wet signal. The pot measures continuity across rotation. There is a volume control directly coupled after. Then the...
