Very nice! MG has to be my current fav drive atm. Recently opened up my paragon (that has high gain resistors) and changed the clipping diode switches so it was only a "boost", very similar to the morning glory now. Running the the MG into the paragon is now my fav combo

Clean switch is probably my fav mode. There is a noticeable vol drop when the clean is activated. But nothing a boost/drive pedal in front wont handle. I've seen some mention adding a small boost inside the pedal for the clean mode, if i build it again that definitely something id try. Id also...

Yep, followed that video. Iron was getting hot and meltingsolder even at the tip but i was getting terrible soldering results. I had checked and even changed the temp and (then the tip) but still no improvement. Im not sure what the reset actually did but i had immediate results doing so.

New tip arrived but I was still having issues. Was about to order a new element but found a comment that recommended factory resetting the fx888. That fixed what ever was happening. Getting good soldering results again

Good to know, im getting pretty crap results with the current tip. I tried a cheap ebay tip i had lying around and its having similar results. But ive got a legit hakko t18b on the way. Hopefully that brings it back to life.

Having some issues with my hakko fx888. Seems I may have left it on for a few hours without tining the tip. Did I burn out the heating element? I've got a new tip on the way l. Hopefully it's just due for replacement. I've had this tip for 4+ yrs.. it's done LOTS of work in that time Cheera

ok, thanks for the input. Ive used jb weld to patch holes before, works well.. but i would prefer something "nicer" for the plug as i dont plan to refinish the enclosure.

I see some people have used marbles with leds to good effect. Just wondering if there are other methods?

Be sure to get that enclosure gets HOT. I use the iron on the hottest setting. Also press firmly, especially on the edges while heating up but if you see that paper start going dark then its time to quit. I also prefer to soak in water for an hour afterward. I drop it into a bucket straight...

Im using a brother with cheap amazon refil toner. Ive found using the backing paper that comes with drawer liner/book cover/contact. You peel away the sticky liner and use the backing paper. For those in Aus reading this the stuff from bunnings has been the best so far, found in the craft section.
