Just to complete this thread. Excellent circuit- it can shape your tone and provide clean boost. Robert found a bad cap in my build and that was the key. I would mark this solved, but I am not sure how. Maybe an admin could help with it.

I too have purchased a few fake op-amps. But yes, I found I was not able to dial in tone that pleased me. I know somebody likes it. I guess that’s the cool thing about pedals.
