PedalPCB 3PDT Breakout Board with other PCB?

OK, that makes sense, thanks for the response. I was able to verify that the footswitch itself was fine using this method. But then I used this diagram and tested for continuity between the jack tips and the outside lugs on the middle row of the 3PDT and it looks like the traces were indeed...

PedalPCB 3PDT Breakout Board with other PCB?

Hi everyone, I have a project I built from another company's PCB, but it turned out I had already soldered all the 3PDT switches I had on hand with PedalPCB breakout boards. I figured this shouldn't really change anything since the switch should be connected in the same way, but somehow I was...

    Son of Ben extremely trebly?

Hi everyone, I finished a Son of Ben build a while ago and I'm not sure it's working as expected. The pedal seems to be functioning (LEDs lit, passes sound, creates distortion) but it cuts almost all of the bass with an extremely trebly sound overall. It sounds kind of interesting with the...

XC Phase - turns on and passes sound but does not phase

Success! Pedal works and sounds great. The trimpot can be set by ear in this situation, correct? I just dialed it for the strongest audible whoosh. Thanks again!

XC Phase - turns on and passes sound but does not phase

That would do it! Will desolder and report back, thanks so much!

XC Phase - turns on and passes sound but does not phase

Hi everyone! Just got through my XC Phase build using a matched quad of 2SK208-GR JFETs from AionFX (https://aionfx.com/project/2sk208-gr-matched-set/) I thought I'd try them since they were used in the Boss PH-1r that I really like. The pedal turns on, LED and bypass are working and it does...

Rangefinder: Weak, crackling sound when turned on

That was it! Thanks so much. Replaced that resistor and was able to get the bias to -6, not quite the target of -7. Even so, the effect sounds great now so that seems to be fine. Thanks to all for the extremely helpful advice :)

Rangefinder: Weak, crackling sound when turned on

Looking at the schematic that's R2 and R3, I suppose? I feel a bit lucky this is such a simple circuit. I'll measure their resistance quickly to see if it's as I'd expect. P502 T020 I suppose I can't be 100% sure because I haven't found a datasheet for the AY33S, but the housing appears to be...

Rangefinder: Weak, crackling sound when turned on

Hmmm, it's a 3-pin 3362-style trim pot which seems to have only one possible orientation on the PCB. Here's a quick video I took showing what happens as I adjust the position: Is it possible the trim pot is faulty? I could try replacing it.

Rangefinder: Weak, crackling sound when turned on

Interestingly, it's still the same with the trim pot fully counterclockwise, -9.1v. Here's a photo in case that reveals anything that I'm getting wrong still.

Rangefinder: Weak, crackling sound when turned on

Yes, positive (red) lead on the collector (opposite of the transistor can 'tab' side leg), negative lead (black) on the ground. I'm doing this without the pedal in its case so I'm using the shield of the output jack as the ground point for the negative lead—does that check out?

Rangefinder: Weak, crackling sound when turned on

Hmmm, I just tried to measure with my multimeter and didn't get a result that made much sense...-9.1v? Turning the bias pot actually had no effect.

Rangefinder: Weak, crackling sound when turned on

With the bias trim pot? I just tried twisting it through its whole range and it didn't seem to affect the problem. Thanks!

Rangefinder: Weak, crackling sound when turned on

Hi everyone! I started my first PedalPCB projects over the winter and had some successful builds with a few boost and drive circuits. Surprisingly, I couldn't get my Rangefinder build to work properly. Bypass works fine, LED turns on fine, but I get a thin-sounding, crackly version of the dry...
