    Help a breadboard newbie/clueless guy

You guys are.. wizards.... So the "power rail" running down the side is always "hot". What I want to do on my next pedal (even though they are all going well) is test the output before wiring the switch to it and before wiring the io and batt.. rock it before box it. if i solder some leads...

So this raises a question... When I want to see how bright an LED is I use a 3.3v coin cell battery to light them. I must assume that when I did those first few LED test on the board and fed them 9V directly I immediately fried them. Are the pedalpcb and any pedal in general when it comes to...

YAHTZEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I must have BURNED out the LED on some other attempts? I tested the LED with a coin battery and it was DEAD. So i grabbed another LED from the bin and it worked on coin cell. I then plugged that one directly to the power rail and blew it up. So i...

OK i had a shitty solder on left side which is now fixed and I have 9.2V at the end of my pins. Still not able to get LED to light up. tried putting resistor to + power and other to row 8. then LED + into row 8 and - of LED to blue. no lighting of LED.

Yes, I have the long leg of the LED in the + of the "power rail". I am going to get the DMM out and check for 9V on the end of those pins.

I have never used a breadboard in my life. I built one with a power jack, the io jacks and a mini toggle. I am feeding this with a 9V one spot. For fun, I simply wanted to light up an LED but will eventually use this to test pedals and maybe "design" stuff. I am a total newbie, I know enough...

ISOSCELES Super Low Output on Fortin Mode

YEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!! I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STORY TIME. On the initial build, I f'd up on SW1. When I mounted it and soldered and then flipped the board over I noticed that it was crooked and cocked to the inside facing the LEVEL knob at about a 20 degree angle and I never would have...

ISOSCELES Super Low Output on Fortin Mode

Finished my build last night of the ISOSCELES. Pedal is working and the TC mode sounds great, but when I switch to Fortin mode (the toggle on the left to go between preamp and boost called SW1) there is a massive drop in volume (regardless of the 33 or Grind toggle mode). In TC mode all is...

WIth the pedal LEVEL at Noon, BASS at 0 and TREBLE at Noon, there is a substantial drop in output when switching from TC mode to Fortin mode (either toggle of Fortin mode). I read comments from others on this pedal and even in the review about low output. I am positive and confident that all...

I swapped to a 2N5089 and put in backwards, no diff. The TC mode has WAY MORE output than the Fortin modes. When in Fortin mode, switching between 33 and grind. Zero diff. The TC sounds great. The Fortin mode are fubar. There is another thread where another user had exact issue and...

    Isosceles Boost

My isosceles is doing exactly what u describe in this thread. I used all stock values and my R4 is 16k. Are u saying u put an equiv of a 19.5k at R4 and it fixed the fubar volume issues between the Fortin vs TC mode?

Just finished my build. Pedal is working but the boost portion is... Not right, or maybe it is.... The preamp mode has WAY more output and balls than boost mode. And when in boost mode, not hearing much of a diff at all between the modes. I know all my stuff is right and I'm. Using...

I will go with how I have it and will use whatever I think sounds best even if 33 is grind and grind is 33 and finkel is einhorn. Thanks for telling me that the boost mode deactivates bass and treble - I was not aware of that and would have thought something was wrong with my build, ha.

Dude awesome, thank you. I was totally backwards in my guess so now I can fix my inksoft labeling. PS that pedal artwork is sick! Ever since I saw the DIABEETUS pedal where the dude put LED's in Wilford's eyes I am liking any pedal that puts LED's in creative places.
