Its for the Aion FX IVP build, which calls for the Xicon transformer in the parts list. I just like buying from digikey better as its faster and cheaper shipping to me, plus I've already filled a cart and I'm to stubborn to just abandon it!

Can anyone confirm if THIS Xicon transformer from Mouser is equivalent to THIS one by Triad magnetics? I can see That the impedance and turn ratio are the same but the primary/secondary resistance values are off quite a bit and I'm not sure if this matters.

Ok it was definitely the 386- changed it out and much improved. Still getting some pretty bad RF if I turn the base pot all the way up but I'm happy enough to leave it for now.

Ok I'm not crazy- compared to mine that is super quiet. All chips are from Tayda. Maybe I'll pull out the 386 and try it for another one? I built an Acapulco gold with 2 386s from this same batch and it was also crazy noisy BUT it seems as though that is expected with that pedal.

I dunno, I checked out some demos and they don't sound as noisy as mine. Basically if I have the up octave and the filter clockwise even slightly when I stop playing anything theres a WALL of white noise that comes in, and there's a slight delay to it- almost like theres a gate thats opening...

I've built a Captain Bit and it sounds as it should, it sounds very good in fact. But there is quite a bit of background static and white noise, it's present even when the guitar's volume is turned down. I can cut it back quite a bit if I turn the "up" and "filter" counter clockwise to cut out...

Nevermind....Pin 4 of IC2 had a damaged pad from overly aggressive wicking to fix a previous mistake. This was breaking the ground path for the cathode of LED 2. Soldered on a little jumper wire and now it works.

I just built the Magnetron and the mod LED isn't doing anything-in the most recent version drill template there actually is no hole for the second LED. Anyone know if this has been removed from the circuit? There's still pads on the board for it, and the LED works when I test it with multimeter...

5.8v on Q1 and Q3 as well, trimmers not really having any affect on voltage or guitar signal. Maybe I need to reflow these.

The lowest voltage I can get is 5.8v on Q2 and Q4 drains, trimmers all the way counter clockwise. I should have mentioned that by "probing" I was using an audio probe.

I put together this Drive 55 and as far as I can tell, it's working properly (maybe some low end missing) but the output is significantly lower than the input volume of the guitar. Here's what I suspect and wondering if anyone can confirm: I used SMD 4393s for Q1-Q4, but stupidly I only ordered...

Ah ok, now that I've thought about it I can see it both ways. Working left to right the first channel would be left then boost on the right (I have a few pedals like this), but signal flows right to left on a pedalboard so it makes sense that way too. Thanks for clearing that up.

Yep, R13 was 4.7k, not 47k. Trying to work too fast. Also C13 had a cold joint. I took out the board mount pots and replaced them with off-board as that was making me nervous as well and all is good now except: the first footswitch (left) activates the second (lower) row of pots, second switch...

Fair enough. Was genuinely curious if he solved it or gave up. My opamp voltages are identical on both channels, and I'm close enough to 9v on pin 8 but every other pin besides ground is wrong. 1-1.31 2-1.29 3-2.12 4-0 5-0.90 6-1 7-1.35 8-8.63
