sndansby Member May 31, 2021 #1 I was working on my Muffin Factory and I noticed the diodes I have are listed at 49 HFE and the requirements that are for the pedal are 55-65. Can I use these diodes or do I have to keep looking. Also how can I tell what the CBE leads are?

Mcknib Well-known member May 31, 2021 #2 Should be fine germanium transistor hFE will change with temperature If you hold it in your fingers for a minute or so the hFE will increase It also depends on what you are using to measure hFE a meter doesn't take leakage current into account so isn't very accurate You can Google any transistor pinout or datasheet and that will let you know which pin is which Yours should have a coloured dot on the body near the collector pin, middle pin is base and other pin emitter Anyway here's the pinout image in German I think farb being colour
