Actual Overdrive Jr. Center Led diodes supposed to light up?

Just built the Actual Overdrive Jr. PCB - I added the LED's at the center of the board assuming they might be connected to the switches? Mine are not lighting up though the circuit works perfectly well. As there is no schematic yet, thought I'd ask and see if I should expect these LED's to light or not? - or are the just used as part of the circuit to be left inside the enclosure? Help, thoughts appreciated!
