Amentum Boost sub 2n5089 for MPSA18

Just a heads up for anyone looking for 2n5089 substitutes in the Amentum, I tested it out and the MPSA18 sounds great in this circuit, and from what I can tell from the datasheet it is lower noise and higher gain. My main purpose for calling this out is that the MPSA18 is available through Tayda, so if you're doing a big parts order through them, you won't need to source out the 2n5089 elsewhere and pay separate shipping and higher costs, etc. Just grab an MPSA18 and try it out! You can always socket it and if you don't like it put in an order elsewhere for the 2n5089 and swap it out after the fact.

I find those two are interchangeable. Occasionally, Electronic Goldmine puts NOS MPSA18s on sale. When they do, I grab a bunch. Used 'em in my Crystal Drive. I bought some 2N5089s from Tayda before they jacked up the price.

Yeah, $3 a piece on Tayda (and always sold out)! While Small Bear has em for 30 cents and Digikey does them for 14 cents in groups of 5 (70 cents total for 5).
