I had a good run this past week and a half, but the fun comes to an end tonight. Nothing else booked until one in October. Usually my concerts are more spread out over the summer, but this year every one I wanted to see was squeezed into a 10 day period

So my 15yo likes to go to shows at a cool, tiny, all ages venue. Mostly it's some just-starting-out hardcore bands, and the crowd is pretty young, so I usually just park down the street and wait for the end of the show. Same tonight. My kid hops in the car and says I think I get the whole drone doom thing, the last band was pretty good. I think they were called The Body or something.

WTH. The fucking Body played a one-off show in a closet-sized venue in my hometown tonight. It's what makes them phenomenally great of course, but WTH.

I'll be catching Clutch, Red Fang and my guitar idol J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) Thursday in Louisville. Weather says 95 degrees and sunny. Gonna be a scorcher.
