Anyone Else Diggin' the New "Fallout" Series on Amazon Prime?

I don't know if I've telegraphed it hard enough :p I'm a New Vegas fanboy. I have friends who can't get beyond the Oblivion-era graphics, but despite its age, for me it's the world it builds and the cohesion—the writing. It's a world that existed before you, and it'll exist after you, to co-opt a game reviewer's words.
Dude, that was a rabbit hole that I went down with the writers.....I had no idea

Ya I just bought New Vegas for $10 on steam. I only ever finished fallout 3 so I’m gonna give new Vegas a go. I just played oblivion again last year so the graphics won’t offend me hahaha quite the opposite

Two episodes in. If I turn up my suspension of disbelief all the way (a woman traveling solo in that world would have... trouble, especially looking like that), it is pretty good.

One thing that will drive me away pretty soon if it doesn't stop is the constant old timey songs playing in the background at full volume. I get why they're there but it's obnoxious and a tired cliche. I was never a fan of songs in films, and this is way overdone. It also detracts from the ambience of the place. I'd like to hear what that world actually sounds like.

I don't play games. I also stay away from fan forums and explanatory articles.
I'll soak it in as it goes along, missing 70% of the references. I guess the whole season came out at once but I watch an episode a week.

You maybe already know but I wasn't sure given these two quotes ..... That "old timey songs playing constantly and loudly in the background" isn't just your typical "movie soundtrack" cliche, it's actually directly from the game. Your PIP Boy (the "wrist computer") plays music/radio stations the whole time (unless you shut it off, which I often do unless it's tuned to a radio station that is actually imparting game-specific information as opposed to just playing the same five songs on a loop.)

I didn't know that.

Haven't had any exposure to the game, so coming at this series from out of the cold.

I enjoyed it immensely. The sets, costumes, color palette, dialogue and acting are top notch.

I don't know that I've ever been disappointed with Walton Higgins. He picks good projects and disks in a great performance each time.
