This is the only non-PedalPCB build I've done so far other than my first pedal kit. Fun easy build, but I didn't realize the ground and switch pads are reversed compared to PedalPCB boards, so I had to re-do that. Socketed a few components since the build docs had different values for one of the Gyrators compared to the original HM-2. Thanks for the tips on waterslides from my last build (minotaur), this one went much more smoothly. I pulled the Ash silhouette from a decal on amazon and designed the rest in Illustrator earlier today.

The pedal sounds really awesome. It is basically the tonestack of a dimed HM-2 combined into one knob, with a distortion section similar to an MXR Distortion+. I'm a bit of an HM-2 fanatic. In fact, the first PedalPCB build that got me into all this madness was the Promethium. This measures up with my favorite clones, although it is more inspired by the HM-2 than an outright clone.

For those of you who don't know, the HM-2 on dimed settings is known as the Swedish "chainsaw" sound, and Ash(ley) is a character from a horror franchise called Evil Dead who has a chainsaw arm and carries a shotgun he refers to as his "boomstick." I thought this would be a fun crossover between those two things and I hope there are some Evil Dead fans on here that get the reference.

Chainsaw = HM-2 EQ
Boomstick = Volume
Evil = Distortion

Also Idk if I have the sense of humor of a 10-year-old, but the switch placement with the graphic was unintentional. Not really off-brand though considering how comedic the movies are.

Looks great! The GCI stuff I've built has all sounded great.
I've also had to talk myself down from ordering one of his guitars a few times...

I love the art on this so much

Great work. The decal looks fantastic and I couldn't love the theme more!
Thank you! I've been saving the Ash idea for my own HM-2 inspired pedal that is in the works, but after putting this one together I started asking myself if it was even necessary. Might just make a dual pedal with the Muzzle, Murdock Plus, and an added clean blend and call it a day.
