Bass Preamps (Sansamp Bass Driver, B7K, Alpha Omega, etc)

That must be an early Noble, the newer ones have the transformer and tubes both mounted inside the box. I have some gutshots around here somewhere from the one I took apart a couple years ago. They're very well-built, but I have a funny story about them when I get talking.
The Noble Preamp will be fine.
But. I think as long as this doesn't go any further, there will be time to talk.

Would be cool to know what's under the hood of the EBS Black Haze, but even cooler to know what makes the Laney Black Country Customs Blackheath Bass Distortion tick tick tick tick tick tick tick BOOM!

Someone could cobble something together pretty easily using a few of my open source boards, although it's a little different topology from the quick and dirty test build I did a few years ago just going off the published EQ specs. But all my boards are at least part SMT, so a clean sheet through-hole layout would probably be a much better call.

Weird that they did a baxandall stack but fixed the treble, don't think I've ever seen that before.
i built 2 of them from PCBGM (and they actually worked ) and it's a super cool EQ. no shelving, all bell curves. bass preamps have ridiculously useless frequencies. super wide shelves at like 40hz and 10khz, bringing up TONS of useless frequency information. meanwhile darkglass said 80, 500, and 2.8k, that's useful, let's cut and boost there and nowhere else. and it's SO good.

This is exactly why I'm planning to do a complete overhaul of the electronics on my main bass that will include one of these, I feel the stock preamp has exactly that problem and it's extremely noisy in the treble to boot.

I did a pedal like that for a TB luthier friend not long ago, but then coupled it with one of my resonant LPFs for treble control. Works really well actually. Three knobs: Bass/Resonance/Frequency. It'll be a documented option when I get everything up on GitHub.

Very cool :) I keep forgetting to tell you, I have a bass preamp project in the works. It's still a secret, but I'll PM you about it ;)
