So not too long ago I had a thread asking for some advice on filling out a bass board. The general consensus was more or less… build Chuck’s bass Klon and some sort of high pass filter. So I did that!
Signal chain is:
1. Chuck’s Bass Klon
2. Mosky Black Rat
3. Line 6 M9
4. PPCB Frequency Interchange Filter (Broughton Low/High Pass Filter)
5. Madbean Sludgehammer (Sansamp Bass DI)
I’m still getting everything dialed in, so ignore the knob positions… but I’m quite happy with it otherwise!
I use the M9 as a bit of a Swiss Army knife. It has a noise gate on the input, and I leave the Tube Comp always on. It’s really good IMO. Beyond that, I have it set for volume pedal, wah, octave (down), a spot for alternate compression or EQ, and a catch-all modulation spot. It works nicely for me.
The Mosky is just a little rat clone, I’ve had it for years and love it. Highly recommend.
M9 has its own power supply and the rest is just powered by a 1spot. I built a little “distribution” box to keep my power cables nicely organized but it’s basically a bunch of daisy-chained power jacks that the 1spot plugs in to.
We’ll see how long it sticks for…
(I tried to stick with pretty much all black. Guess I need to find a black power strip)
