CONTEST Buddy's Summer Contest - 1 Knob? No Prob!

CONTEST
For posterity, here's where I ended up with the LM3900 distortion. The submitted one-knob design sounded real good with the four inverting stages but I had some problems when adding a knob to reduce gain. Increasing the input impedance and reducing the feedback capacitors resulted in a very usable gain range. The shallow mids scoop gives this tone all its personality and the SWTC #3 pairs with it well as a "presence" knob. I'm a fan of how this turned out and will be making some PCBs if anyone has some LM3900s laying around.

Ladies and circuit nerds, we have a winner. Before I continue I'd like to say thank you to everyone who participated. We had all kinds of entries: fuzz, boost, OD, modulation, etc. There are tons off possibilities out there when you think a little outside the box.

The summer for most of us tends to be a lot busier than other times of the year. Vacations, kids at home, house projects, pedal building, you name it. We all get a little distracted with life and the punches it throws. Myself included. Perhaps the next contest I'll keep the season in mind...That being said I have reviewed all the official submissions and the winners is..... @t1redhands !!!

You, sir, have taken some classic circuits and made your own twist on them! We see in the pedal building world a lot of repeated circuit topologies and for good reason: they work and they work well for the most part. Your takes on the Harmonic Percolator and Muff are what made you stand out from the crowd. Heck, you even surprised our local circuit wizard @Chuck D. Bones with your entries! Great job!

Again, thanks to everyone who participated. I hope to see some PCBs or stripboard builds of some of the entries soon.

Congratulatory salutations t1redhands!

I've got 3 x LM3900N and one LM3900.

The former-mentioned quad current mirror op-amps (PDIP-14) were slated for a Lesie sim,
while the latter chip was to be used for "Synthespin Leslie Emulation ie Tremolo" — from Small Bear ... at least that's what my notes say how I was going to use them.

Now, however...
