C2CE Diplomat no sound

Hi everyone, I just finished the C2CE Diplomat and it’s not working. Any help would be appreciated.
1. Turned on: bypass signal only (LED doesn’t switch on; it’s like it’s not on).
2. Turned off: nothing (no signal passed through).

I could be getting those round the wrong way. As the LED doesn’t come on and I was turning the pedal on/off so often, I might have them mixed up.

I thought I might have wired the input/output jacks or power jack wrong but googled it and they should be ok. Other thought I had was that it might be the tone pot (the rotary pot). I had to reheat the connections to push one side of the pot in further as I’d soldered it wonky. I don’t know whether you can fry a pot by doing that but even if I did, I would’ve thought the other parts of the circuit would still work - so I ruled that out as well.

For context, I’ve built 4 pedals including one of C2CE and they all worked ok but I’m definitely still on the beginner side..

Thanks so much for your help (and hopefully this is the right forum - wasn’t sure whether it should be the sushifx forum or troubleshooting).

I have no idea! I’ll try to work that out.
This is the product data sheet
From your photos it looks like the red wire is connected to the center pin. Standard pedal power supplies use the center pin for ground.

Even if you swapped the wires I don’t think that jack will work since it joins the outer sleeve to the enclosure. That would put 9v to the enclosure which is no good.

Ah I think I get you now. As it’s a metal jack, it’s transmitting the signal to the enclosure and shorting. I need one of the plastic ones. So by buying the more expensive jack thinking it was better quality I’ve just bought a useless one (for this application..). Live and learn!

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated 🙌🏼
