SOLVED Captain bit. First build problems.

This is my first build so in the way of trouble shooting I'm kind of lost.

When the pedal is off it has unaffected sound and no hum.

When the pedal is on it just hums and the led will blink every second or so and when it does you can hear the effect but with a lot of hum. The knobs seems have some affect but it's almost like the pedal is restarting and then shutting back off.

It's out of the enclosure to try and get the best view of my joints as possible.

You have both your jacks wired the wrong way around (the tab connected to the inner metal sleeve is ground). Rewire and check back!

I think the awful hum is gone but the pedal is still pulsating when on. It's hard to tell.

Double check your cap and resistor values, a quick look over shows a 100n cap where a 10n should be (C6)

And a 4.7 ohm resistor where a 4k7 should be (R100)...you may have fried your LED there.

Maybe clean your board with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol, I can see a potentially cold joint here so there may be more

Funny enough. That 10n cap was one I changed to a smaller one and I misread the lable. And I changed the resistor and LED and it works now!

For the record, doing Captain Bit as a first build is a big step. Great job! Really looks great.

I started with a noise synth from synthrotek. So not my first ever project. But I also am a fiend for pedals and I'm super cheap. So it was really just picking up one that looks fun.
