It works! So yay, but it seems to be anemic in the gain dept. Any thoughts on this. My Crunch Box has waaay more gain...pulverizing.

It seems the gain is pushing the clipping. The LEDs fizzle pretty quickly. Re-flowed solder to all joints. Sounds exactly the same.

How does it sound outside the enclosure? The metal dc jack might causing some issues. I tend to use plastic just to be safe. The tip solder lug on your IN jack looks very close to the dc jack too. It's hard to tell in this photo, are they touching at all?

How about the other side? I know it's a pain to pull it all out again, but a photo of your joints could help.

I'd also suggest going through the pcb with an audio probe, following the schematic. This should pinpoint exactly where the problem is.

The big 1uF box cap in the top left corner should actually be 1nF.

That's dumping all of your input signal straight to ground.

The DC Jack is insulated with a rubber grom. Ordered the wrong ones...
