Cepheid Chorus Troubleshooting

I feel like I am losing my mind here... finished putting together a Cepheid chorus, plugged in and got absolutely nothing. Realized my 3pdt was on 90°, rotated it and then got sound on my amp, but no tone modification and no LED's on the pedal.

I have quadruple checked and swear everything it connected right.

I have run a handful of checks and tests on different components, reflowed the IC's, just not getting it down here. I know a lot of the soldering is hideous, this is only my 2nd week with an iron.

Yeah that 3pdt switch wiring looks like it has seen better days. They can be sensitive to excess heat. Honestly the pcb components don't look too bad for just using an iron for a few days. I would definitely clean it up and honestly redo the offboard wiring to the switch. Do you have a multimeter by chance or an audio probe? Also, you may want to look into these if you are going to building more pedals. 1775088373013.png

These will save you some headaches from offboard wiring.

Sounds like bypass is working, just no signal coming from the circuit. An audio probe can tell you where your signal is dropping. IF you don't have one handy, it is pretty easy to make one.

I did a quick once over and everything seems to be the correct polarity, including the power jack. Since you have a multimeter, I would check for continuity between connections. If you can read the schematic, try to isolate some potential problem spots, put the meter on speaker mode and listen for the beep when there's continuity. If it's not getting power at all, the first place I'd look are the power connections. Those lands are famous for being small and sometimes difficult to get a solid connection. Also, take an old toothbrush and some alcohol to clean up the excess flux and any potential stray wires. Good luck!

I did tweak it a bit, not sure if it was enough for relevant change. Currently redoing the switch/IO wiring and color coding a bit. Will check back in shortly.

Also I do have a cheap MM, no audio probe.

Went and rewired everything, we have Chorus now! Oddly the LED's are still not lighting, even though I verified A & K on the right positions. Oh well!

Great job on tidying up that foot switch wiring!
