Changing pot to fixed value resistor

I am kind of a dumbie paint by numbers consumer of pedal pcbs. I have some favorite pcbs I want to rebuild but I want to forego some of the pots and replace them with a fixed value resistor. For example if a schematic lists 100k pot I want to replace it with 50k resistor. Which of the 3 holes should I put the resistor across???

It really depends on the specific pot.

When I do this I usually do it the idiot proof way of using two resistors (one going from 1 to 2, other going from 2 to 3) especially if I’m not sure if it’s setup as a variable resistor or a voltage divider

If it's a voltage divider, it's going to be 2 resistors. Lugs 1-2 and 2-3
If it's a variable resistor, one resistor, lugs depending on layout.
