SOLVED Conqueror Fuzz Inductor Question

Hi All

I have an inductor pulled from an old Vox Wah labelled L1A. I can't seem to find specs for this. Would I be correct in assuming that since it is for a wah that it meets the 500mH requirement? Or is is there some other inductor I should look out for?

Also, is there any specific orientation for the inductor?

Thanks

It should be somewhere near 500mh, even if it’s 470mh I don’t think it will matter much to this circuit.

Inductors have no polarity so throw it in there any way you want.

The inductor should be installed in the red area or the blue area, or diagonally across them.

Don't install it in just the left or just the right set of pads. It doesn't matter which direction you install it otherwise.

Yep, rotate it 90 degrees and you should be good to go.

The "universal" inductor footprint is a good idea, but it needs revising to make it more intuitive...

Sure, build docs, but I'd rather it be blindingly obvious.

:p
I mean, I guessed. I figured the circle should fit in the circle, but I had no idea, so I noticed on the bottom of the board that there were visible tracks going to the holes I used in this photo.

I fixed it last night. Works great now,

I LOVE the sound of this pedal with just the standard mids and the gain all the way down. I think it may become my "always on" tone.
