Cream Pie (Frantone Cream puff) build sounds very dark

Is this a troubleshooting thread or are you asking for modifications to fix it? So the tone control does something, but it's just too dark?

i built one years ago with my own etched pcb and, IMO, it sounds a lot better. i'd like to make this new pedalpcb version sound more like it. i'll have to see if i used the same component values in it, so i think that i'll have to mod it.

it turns out that it's actually bright enough sounding, but it has a TON of low end no matter where the tone control is set as compared to my etched PCB version:

all of the values of caps are the same, but i'm thinking that it may be due to using tanalum and MLCC ceramics in places instead of film and aluminum electrolytics.

Hope you can get it to where you like it, Mr Kallas, it's a great looking build with the unpainted sides and pink frosty topping with cupcake knobs.

@jwin615 — thanks for the link to the PDF; I wasn't familiar with "derating" at all.
