Daydream no sound

Hi all,

My buddy just finished building a Daydream and it has no sound when activated. I put it on the PedalPCB test board and I have power and I have bypass but silence when engaged. Last time my friend had not soldered enough on the switch. I’m wondering if the same thing happened again. I’ve attached some gut shots for help. Thanks in advance for any help!

Do you have any audio probe?

Since you have no dry signal. First thing i would check is voltages on the tl072, the dry signal travels through first half of IC 1 first (input pin 3, output pin 1) you should have about 4.5v on each of those pins, 9 on pin 8, 0 on pin 4. If you do audio probe those pins to check for signal. If theres signal there. Check pins 5-7 for signal (this is after the mix pot so id have the mix pot turned completely dry and turn the volume pot up). If youve got signal there. Check the next tl072 pins 1 & 2 for signal, voltages same as the other. If youve got signal there check the output wiring.

An audio probe is really the best way to trouble shoot a no audio issue. If youre voltages are good, and you have no signal at the first op amp you know its an issue with the switch or the input wiring.
