Differences in components in Jensen DI schematics AS066 and AS007

I am creating a PCB that combines the Jensen AS007 schematic and a 2 (or 3) way splitter. One output would be the main out, and another would be for side-chain purposes. I might add a third specifically for a tuner, but I am not sure, so feedback on that one would be welcome.

But as for my questions about the differences in the two Jensen circuits... While I understand that some of the differences are for "features" like an output pad, etc, I do not quite understand why the AS066 circuit places two in-parallel caps between the input tip and the orange transformer lead, while the AS007 places one resistor in line between the input tip and the orange transformer lead. The other one that I don't quite understand is why the AS066 circuit adds a parallel ground line off of pin 1 of the XLR jack that includes a resistor and a cap, while the AS007 does not.

For reference:

The circuit that I am looking at for the splitter is here: http://www.muzique.com/lab/splitter.htm

Do any of you see any reason why I should not replace the parallel output jack with that splitter circuit? I will get a custom PCB made and have both of these circuits in the same box, and also probably add a stomp switch as a true bypass of the splitter module.

I am new to all of this and, while I am technical, I am *not* an EE. All of your commentary is appreciated. I will definitely share the schematic, PCB layout files, and everything else with this forum when I have it all worked out, and working.

Ok ADD struck again. Since the direct box should be *last* in the chain, it makes no sense to put the splitter in the same box. Doh!
