Double Entendre Fuzz

Taking a break from Big Muffs here is an Electro Harmonix Double Muff. The name is a little misleading because IMO this pedal is closer to an overdrive than a Big Muff Fuzz. It actually sounds pretty good. Probably not something I'd ever use with a band but it's a simple and rewarding build. It is two "fuzz" channels that feed into each other. The toggle selects whether you want just one muff or two. The knobs are both Gain controls for each muff "channel". The right "channel" can only be used in conjunction with the left where as when the toggle is in the left position you only use the first "channel" (left knob). It's not the most versatile or usable pedal. No Tone or Level controls and you can only access the second gain stage via the toggle. Seems like it would be more usable if you could hit a second foot switch to engage the second "channel".

The Double-Muff was the first EHX pedal I ever played (early 2000’s RI). It always reminded me of a Fuzz Face. It cleans up pretty well with the guitar’s volume control, but needs to be first in the chain…

Yeah I wasn't expecting much knowing that historically it's not a popular EHX pedal but it wasn't bad.
