Drill template for Pot and Kettle

The holes are located so the knobs are in the typical PCBpedals vertical locations; I think I'll be moving them all up 1/4 inch when I drill my box next week. The LED hole is undersized in the template (I typically drill this size unless I already know what the LED mount I'll be using is, and then just ream the hole to the correct size before painting.)

Will this template work well with hand drilling?

It should. As I mentioned, you‘ll need to upsize the led hole depending on how you mount you led. To me, the whole trick with hand drilling is to use a center punch to give the tip of the bit a place it won’t skitter away from.

Great and thanks for the work with the template! I agree with your suggestion. I typically drill a pilot hole and it has greatly improved my accuracy. This one is tough with the multiple drill slots, so I wanted to make sure I had a template ready. Take care.

I guess I truly am a belt and suspenders kinda guy. I really like a punched center before I drill a pilot hole. It’s true that small bits tend to wander less than large ones, but it takes so little extra time to tap some points, and almost guarantees accuracy.
