Dual SRV style overdrive. Recommendations?

Hello!
I am looking to build my first two-in-one style overdrive pedal. I’m wanting to build a SRV “Texas blues” style pedal using a big 1590xx sized pedal. I’d like to to a TS808 (or variant) for the first pedal, then hitting a Dumble style preamp or amp in a box style pedal as the second pedal.

Is this a good/useable idea? I’d be playing at home only into a Boss Nextone set as a clean pedal platform.

As for the circuits, I’m thinking the Little Green Scream Machine would be a good choice for the TS side, it’s a classic after all. As for the Dumble side, I’d like some recommendations. Perhaps a Crystal Lettuce, Six String Stinger, or Special Overdrive? If not a Dumble, maybe an Indiana Deluxe (Wampler blackface) would work well? What do you think would be a good choice?

Thanks for your help!

You'd be in the ballpark with a TS808 build, but I wouldn't worry yourself with trying anything Dumble-related in pursuit of his tone. He played very loud and used a few different amps throughout his career, but the most notable Dumble that he used, the 150W SSS, is far from the vocal-mids type Dumble tones that most Dumble style pedals try to mock. The Six String Stinger is allegedly voiced to sound like a Dumble SSS, but it doesn't, at least not in my opinion.

You might consider trying your TS808 in front of something like this: https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/superstevie/

This circuit is based on Paul Cochrane's Timmy, but EQ'd slightly different and has a couple other subtle differences.

I'd second the Super Stevie

For the Dumble style check out the Gladio (Robert has both channels as separate boards). I was just playing mine tonight and it sounds awesome especially with a Strat!

Instead of Dumble, maybe go for a Cesar Dias Texas Square Face?

'Nother secret studio-weapon of SRV's was the Roland Dimension D, in which case build Aion's Blue Shift (clone of Boss Dimension C).

Octavia would be yet another consideration for a SRV combo.
