Duplicolor Clear - I can't mess it up (I've tried)

I've conceded to the fact that finishing is not one of my strong points, so I am buying all of my enclosures powdercoated. However, I do need to clear coat my waterslides.

Living in south Florida, I am almost always spraying in high humidity. Every other rattle can clear I've tried has hazed, orange peeled, was coarse from a breeze, or otherwise did not finish properly.

I've sprayed Duplicolor in a breeze, right before / after it rains or with my enclosures on wet ground that is evaporating in 90 degree heat - and no issues, ever. Yeah its 4-5x the price of Krylon or Rustoleum, but it covers better and works every time.

Duplicolor is top notch. It comes with a cost but considering how little is needed, it's a worthy investment.
They also have some really cool color shift paints and top coats

I'm hooked on the SprayMax 2 part epoxy clear coat. Also horribly expensive, and once you pop the internal bladder to mix the parts you need to use the whole can within a day or two. The benefits are that it sets up faster and harder than anything else I've sprayed, and it doesn't off-gas solvents for nearly as long, so I don't have to deal with a batch of enclosures stinking up my shop for days. I think it also tolerates a heavy coat better than standard paint since it's hardening chemically all the way through instead of relying on air contact to pull out the solvents.

If you can get a good sized batch of enclosures together to spray at once it might be worth trying if you're already resigned to buying expensive paint.

I do sometimes want to do a single pedal and can't justify wasting a whole can of spraymax, so I'll try some of that duplicolor next time I'm paint shopping.

Interesting. I love duplicolor’s perfect match paint, but I’ve had nothing but issues with their clear coats. I have pedals that were cleared with duplicolor stuff 12 years ago that are still tacky now.

I just switched to Dupicolor clear from a recommendation here and it has been such a great improvement. And I've tried all the krylon, rustoleum stuff.

i've been using krylon matte clear on my decal clear coats. it take quite a fw coats to build it up . once cured, i block sand it with 1500 grit and buff them to a high gloss on my buffing wheel. IMO, it comes out great looking:
