Anyway, the Frequency Analyzer is a really unique vintage ring mod which was favored by Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh, and I’ve got an uncontrollable urge to build one.


Take a listen for yourself if you fancy (couldn’t find demo that shows off much of what the pedal can do, so here’s a concert that features it a good amount):

I have my eye on another ring modulator that'll probably step up to the plate when the parts for this one run out. (if not sooner)

You know what? Just eff us up with Ring Mods. For every YATS in the shop, there should be a ring Mod to compensate

I just finished a MadBean Freekout (discontinued) but I'd definitely grab another from PedalPCB

@DGWVI: does it include information about how to set the trimmer? I can't find the PDF documentation of the Freekout anymore? Can you share it so I can setup the EHX Frequency Analyzer of which the trimpot seems to be set incorrectly (max value)?

for those of us PedalPCBers who are Worshippers Of Ring Modulation;
Rise up WORMs, pull on this thread until RM-complacency is unravelled,
Bump and jostle here until the lowly misunderstood RM has risen to its rightful place alongside YATS and JAMs.
WORMs unite, create a klaxon call for that which must be done, a trace of the Frequency Analyzer and other ring-modulators;
that may then be given copper form on a substrate with solder-mask to end the oppressive misery and tyranny of an RM-less PPCB-society.
This thread, a call to YARMs, so that many more forumites may become enlightened and join the Loyal Order of WORM.

I have a frequency analyzer that I have built and im being completely honest, as cool as it is...I still haven't figured out how to use it in a musical way in the context of a song I have no skin in the game for another RM but I hope you guys get to build one.

Well, I love them because of Mark Mothersbaugh... And, I love the dissonant, but soothing chime of the bell-tones they produce
