Here's one from my most recent batch of pedals. A while ago found a guy on reddit who does custom knobs, and I asked him to make me a set of transparent orange 1" MXR knobs. When I painted this enclosure I realized they would be perfect for this color scheme.
i went back and forth between these and a couple others at first. I have a rule where I don't spend more than $1 per knob, as I like to buy a bunch of knobs all at once so I can try different colors and styles, and the cost adds up quickly. These were $5 each so I had some reservations about using them here rather than keeping them for something special, but when I saw it all together, I realized this is the something special.
Ironically, I'm not super crazy about the sound. I like the EQ but it could use a bit more saturation when cranking the gain control. It sounds great when running a Tchula into it, but by itself it just doesn't have enough saturation or low end to compare to my current favorite, a Zvex 59 sound. I like to only have a couple overdrive pedals on my board, and this doesn't dethrone my current #2, an MXR Il Diavolo. But it looks so pretty!
