Surprised this wasn't already being discussed here; UV printer for home use around $2k. Not sure I can justify it for the few pedals I make a year but if other companies start jumping in the prices could come down.

I have been known to be a bad influence...

Nice part of this is it has a camera and you can drag/drop on the actual object. I currently try to design all the graphics with knob placement etc and then drill. Sometimes the drilled holes wind up a tiny bit off. With this you could drill first and then drag/drop labels, graphics, after drilling.

Ive seen this but there wasnt much info yet, Im definitely interested now! The self cleaning system is what has me interested from what i understand one of the biggest problems are the inks drying up after not using it after awhile.

This is why my UV printer is still sitting unused, it's never even been powered up.

I'd get a flatbed printer and offer UV printing tomorrow if it made sense, but I'd still have to outsource powdercoating and drilling, and that just doesn't make any sense at all.

Something like this for the (somewhat obsessed) DIY'er or small boutique builder would be pretty cool though.

Do the inks have a shelf life even if they’re not opened?

Yep.

Like most things, they're probably still perfectly usable for a reasonable period past the expiration date if they're stored correctly... but they definitely do "expire".

Good to know! The 3 month print head warranty tells me I’d better buckle up for a print head ahead of time 🤣😆

I'd be curious to get some opinions if anyone here has one. Only negatives I've heard are more of the remote software management side: forced updates, corporate ransomware philosophy, etc.

I've seen some really cool "dimensional" type of work done with it: put down a layer, cure it, print again, rinse and repeat.
