Feel like an idiot

Decided to go play a little bit while my baby took a nap and my rig had this awful high pitched noise. Tried everything to figure it out. Switched guitars, swapped cables, power cycled many things, turned off all the lights the list goes on. Finally I put my hands in my hoodie pocket in frustration and realize that’s where I put the fucking baby monitor…

Put it literally five feet to my right and back to silent bliss.

Oh and then the baby woke up 🫠

Classic :ROFLMAO:

I feel your pain dude. My kids four now but I had a lot of nights like that where he'd wake up right when I was really getting into playing. Or at the good bit of movie.

Hah yeah they always have a knack for timing! My oldest is four now and sleeps like a rock. Younger one is just now getting better!

I wish Thomas slept like a rock. He usually makes his way into our room and climbs into our bed sometime between 2 and 4am. Sometimes I can put him back into his own bed and sometimes I end up sleeping in the spare room.

Well I think I’ll be there eventually. The oldest is still in the crib because he actually likes it and the doc says let it be. Starting to be a little strange though. I want to switch him to the bed so he can get up and use the bathroom but I know I’m inviting him to come wake me up much like your situation!

He’s always slept well though if I had to bet I’d say the youngest will be the one to cause trouble overnight. Good luck man! Sleep deprivation is a form of torture.

Likewise dude

No joke, the same thing happened to me last night!

Worse still, I was testing a pedal for the first time after I had just finished it. So I was all doom and gloom thinking about troubleshooting.

Pretty relieved when I realized it was the monitor!

... Sleep deprivation is a form of torture.
It can also be better than drugs... ie produce the same poor-choices situations, giddiness where everything is funny, the stumbles, distracted thoughts...

... other things, that...

... and when I...

Squirrel!

All I can add after raising 4 of my own to adulthood is: if you aren't training them, they're training you... My first kid was a terror at sleeping, my 4th was a dream. hint: the kid wasn't the difference. addendum: they all end up just fine in the end.
This is so true.

Face Palm! For months my 4x12 was rattling like a broken speaker. Begrudgingly I finally decided I'd open it up, flipped it onto it's face and while I was doing that a Dunlop shaker egg dislodged from the recessed handle it had found it's way into. So it was a happy face palm, since 12" greenbacks aren't cheap.....

Hah yes let’s take comfort in the easy albeit nonobvious fixes!

My son used to constantly wake up, come into our room and say "I can't get to sleep". Well, you have been asleep for 5 hours now so I think you can get to sleep... One night this went on over and over, wimpering in his bed so my wife went talk to him. After 15 minutes more he was still wimpering so I went in to see what the problem was, only to hear a tearful kid tell me "Mummy say F*ck!" This has since become a bit of a catch cry in our house.

Now he is 25, works as a graduate architect and I only get disturbed by him when he comes home late at night. If I hear him it means he's pissed.

Hah I’m just waiting for him to drop the F word one of these days. The wife and I put a lot of effort into cleaning up our language but it’s just so cathartic!
