Film Capacitors - Box or Mylar?

No real reason to use mylar. They work fine but are generally larger than their box counterparts. May be needed in HV circuits(tube) on occasion.
Wedging a mylar between boxes can also prove problematic.
Here's a good thread over on madbean fourms

I tend to use the green ones, for no other reason than they're cheap and I usually have a ton of them on hand.
same - if i can fit them.
much prefer the old timey aesthetic of the greenies, especially for vero builds.
but for the tightly packed PCB builds, there's no choice, gotta use box.

Ill use greenies sometimes when its less than 100n. Thats sort of my cut off. At one point I ordered a bunch of not commonly used sized greenies from tayda just to have in hand. Since they are so cheap.

If I’m building something with the intent of it going to some else I would stick with one type simply for aesthetics.

I only really use the mylar caps when it's an odd value I can't get in a box cap. No real reason for it other than aesthetics
