This one made me swear a bit. The build went smoothly, but I decided to do this one in a 1590B as I had an extra one from another project, and most parts lying around. I messed up my layout (I do all my building late at night and I must've been tired...) and jacks were ess-than-ideally placed, and shorting the board (I finally went with hot glue for isolation and the low temp gun I have it worked great to « mold » it). I also forget to leave some extra leads for the caps to easily bend them, so to close the enclosure, I had to force them a bit.
I tried different transistors, but the 3 x 2N3904 I had picked gave me the best sound IMO.
It’s a gift for my neighbor (as he’s always giving us veggies from his garden) and I wanted to give hime some outboard dirt (he only uses an Helix board) and wanted to have a real DIY feel to the pedal, so I painted it using a font reminiscent of the Doom game.
So, a good lesson learned in terms of bad planning, and I think I’ll stick to 125B for the time being
