CONTEST
Here’s an abridged prose interpolation of my pedal building journey over the years, told in 8 free-meter stanzas, each with an ABCB rhyme scheme:

In middle school I built a guitar
Painstakingly matched to Ed’s 83 specs
The right switch, the right screws, the right phenolic
A northern ash body and a Birdseye neck

I spent hours each week on Halen.com
While my friends listened to Corgan sing ‘bout a rat in a cage
I would geek over paint hues, reflectors, etcetera
With my fellow forumites; most five times my age

“This wiring part’s fun” I thought to myself whilst frying a pot
So to pedalpartsplus.com I went to order some parts:
A fifteen-ninety LB, two jacks, and a momentary switch
A three-hour kill switch flipped a switch in my heart

An overdrive, a SHO, and a home-designed loop box
Hand painted, decaled, or decked up and relic’d
Some Fuzzes, a bit crusher, buffers and all that jazz
A teenaged guitar geek turned a solder-fume addict

High school flew by, and parcels flew in
college ate time, and builds became few
But when stresses arose and when grandparents passed
I would decompress in the basement with a spool or two

School took the backseat for a couple of years
Seems amidst the moping, pedal-smithing lost its appeal
But I cleaned up my workshop and started restocking parts
Then I plugged in the iron and got back in the game for real

Now I’m back in school and too broke for jacks
But I can still kill the time in Inkscape, making more pun-based graphics
Why not a seven-knobbed envelope flanger
I keep making the weird shit- no more interest in classics!

I’m still busy now, but I’ve got finals in may
When the semester is over I’ll have time for build reports
So expect to see lots of Star Wars themed builds on the forum
And if I forget gut shots, please ready your keyboards to type witty retorts!

There once was a boy from Eenis, who replaced a guitar for his penis,
His hands grow colder, as he grew older, and he kept buying more and more,
Until at last, a collection vast, he focused on the floor

The cheaper of pedals is what he would buy, the richer he'd only adore,
Until he found a way, so he thought, of stretching his dollar more

Alas, what a fool, as he fell in the hole of parts and equipment galore,
A smile on his face, as he drowned in the place, overflowing with circuits and more!

JEEBUS thar be some STIFF competition here!

Y'all are a creative bunch beyond merely creating pedals, multitalented. I'm not sure which ones are my favourites, but I'd like to vote again several extra times — too many good entries...
Apparently it’s going to be hard to beat the Mr Crabs tag line @vigilante398 🤣

It looks like a 4-way tie....I expect no less from such a talent pool. Let hear it for the the Fab Four....wait, that's taken...how about the Fabby Quartet? Oh wait, they've split up...and before their first recording! Well, that's muze for ya.

Now, there are 2 - items I may not have 4 of  The CH341a and the 2N5952 sets ( though I have some other quad PNs that work well ). Before I ride over to the warehouse, warm up the cold-natured forklift and hope I snag the correct pallet....side note: should you ever consider giving a certain of snippet overzealous randomizer code (yes, Randy) the task of inventory control, think twice. Clearly it is incapable of breaking it's poorly-written sub routines. Chances are, I'd find the Tiki lights I gave up on long ago. ICs were likely slated for the garden shed, and eventually spread over the zucchini to help with the squash bugs....I know, I know, again...this was an ill-fated idea.

Apart from a rogue routine or two, let's say for argument's sake that I cannot put my hands on 2-CH341a cheeps.....BUT....I exchange them forrrrrrrrr aaaaaaaa [looks around]....old dog? She was slightly amused...I know, a set of baby Lumberg mono jacks KLBM3.

Seriously though, I could maybe get some more 341s, but I would hate to get a bum batch and someone solder that beast to a board. [shudders].....in fact, as these pieces are untested (I've used one from the batch and it functions), if the other two would prefer those cool lumbergs instead, that'd be groovy.

Congratulations to...

@vigilante398 - honesty is the best policy
@dawson - polarized
@Mentaltossflycoon - My own biggest critic
@Fuzzonaut - Why do they keep buying me headphones?

Of course, by the time I post this, it will no longer BE a tie. :ROFLMAO: Oh well...here goes...

Whoah! Is there a build report for the momentarily-featured Hypno-Toad pedal?
Isn't that a beaut? I was the lucky recipient of that terrific trance-inducing toad!

Oh, f-real??
Thank you Fig, you're the greatest- and I'm not just saying that because I won this time..
Finally I can get some BBD chorus up in the SCHMORG!

I too am happy to be flexible on the prize- if you've got any nice TL072's to spare, those would be a great substitute for me.. all of the TL072's I have in stock make builds sound like frying bacon.

*Message me if anyone out there wants their build to sound like frying bacon.
(not in a desirable way like the Scrambler..)

Well that was unexpected. Realistically the only thing in that list that I would actually use is the LM308 because I can't quit Rats 🐀❤️

I'm pretty stingey about my FV-1 stash, but if you need any more CH341A I have a solid handful I could part with.

Good morning and good news ... woo-hoo! @fig sure is the man! Thanks for the groovy contests, not just this one, they are fun.

About the things to help build things that make sweet noises: I'd gladly take the Lumbergs, they are my favourite jacks and I've just been looking to get some, but nobody (around here) seems to have them at them moment.

Again, thanks fig!

As always, thank you all for playing along and for being a part of this awesome DIY community. As always thank you Robert, for all that you do. 😘

I'll contact each of you in DM and we'll come up with a custom prize package tailored to your individuality and aura.

Now, go build something. Why? Because I said so! 🥰

F-ing Sweeeeet! Thank you Fig! If I don't screw it up the XC phase will likely get housed with the flyleaf in the tester in the background. I'll tell my wife is your fault that i bought an xc, rat, low tide mini, and am waiting to pounce on a hydra... haven't settled on what to do with the mn3005 or germanium transistor. Suggestions are welcome.
