Gibson SG Standard Tribute

Is it a natural walnut, cherry or...? Humbuckers or P90s?

I like my P-90 Standard, but it's not a Tribute.

Lightweight, sounds great. If a note is sharp or flat, tuning is as easy as applying a little pressure on the neck to bend the note into tune — maybe the Tributes are more stable.

Faded cherry with humbuckers

I've got an SGJ which is satin walnut with humbuckers and 24 frets so it is kinda similar except for the # of frets. Best $500 I ever spent on gear. But nothing beats my P90 standard. It just slays every other guitar I've owned. All that said if you dig what an SG is and does you'll probably be very happy if the price is right.

Thanks!

I bought a white Epiphone SG Standard last month and I'm blown away by how incredible of a guitar it is. Had it for almost a month and have barely flicked the tuners. Debating about dropping in P90s or push/pull pots, but it sounds so amazing stock that I'm probably just going to keep it the way it is. I am only dealing with local shops and Sweetwater for any and all guitar purchases.

I have an Epiphone G400 that's set up in open E for slide. Sounds great. I'd like a Gibby SG too but I'd like a lot of things that are perhaps not such a good idea at this point in my life. What I actually need is to sell stuff off and clear out a bunch of useless crap that's cluttering up my life.

EDIT: But you, my fellow David, you should absolutely buy that SG if it feels right for you. I doubt you'd regret it.
