GT308 as a MP16 substitute?

Hi,

I am about to build the Duocast, and have been thinking about putting an MP16 (hFE=80-90) in place of the original germanium transistor. My regular go-to store were out of them, so I have been eyeing the GT308 (hFE=80-90)... Anyone have any expericence with it?

I might put the transistor in sockets anyway to be able to test/swap things...

Always socket weird germanium transistors, you could end up with a transistor with too much leakage or something...too many variables beyond HFE to know for sure.
