Guvernator - Control Layout Change

I've built a few Guvernators with the pots wired off board for the main reason that the controls are, IMO, backward.

If I populate the board on the backside, then when it is put into the enclosure, the controls, again IMO, the controls are laid out in a way that matches many of not most controls.

Currently, the controls are L-R
Volume-------Gain
Treble--Mid--Bass

If the screen printing was put on the other side of the PCB then the controls would be laid out like this:

Gain-------Volume
Bass--Mid--Treble

Anyway, just a thought and I wouldn't be the least surprised if there is a logic or legal reason for the current config.

The component layout somewhat follows signal flow.

Swapping the location of the Volume / Gain pots would involve the signal entering the pedal, traveling across the PCB to the gain stage, back across the PCB again to the volume pot, then back across the PCB a third time to reach the side of the enclosure with the output jack.

I almost always place the volume control on the right side of the PCB (closest to the output jack) for that reason.

As for the Treble/Mid/Bass thing, that seems to be a matter of preference and varies from one pedal/amp to the next....

I personally tend to lean towards Treble/Mid/Bass, after all, it is called a TMB tone stack. (a BMT is a sandwich)
