Head cold [MoRC]

Village Idiot
This is not a new build, but with the upcoming creaminess headed our way it came to moo...er...mind. The is a GPCB v.3 layout, sans the release switch for basic functionality.

I call it head cold because yeah...it sounds like your stuffed head feels. 😨 ....and it lasts for days!

It's solid straight-up compressionnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

I got one of those to box up around here somewhere, and I think it's the version 2 board

Great name for your build Fig!
I like the Molex connectors you have, I bought an assortment of them yesterday in various pin-numberings to try them out.
Green power plug factors in to the overall decor of the pedal?

I never ordered the MoRC because DynaRoss just isn't great for Bass (or so I've read ad infinitum), yet I still wound up with a couple of the PCBs — one may have been part of a package deal or like its brother was a freebie chucked in with an order.

So I'm thinking of building one up with an Orange Squeezer (Analogman Bicomp), try to channel some Tony Levin ... maybe add a DI and call it a...
... MoRC & MijnDI

If it was SMD it'd be:
Nanoo-nanoo

So when somebody posts a build without a "gut shot," usually within the first three posts someone else is asking, "What, no guts?"
But when somebody posts nothing but a gut shot we act like nothing is missing??

Nice guts, by the way.

I think the current release is v4.

Looks like you're getting the remnants of that storm. We can usually predict our weather by N. Georgia, especially snow or ice.

Splendid looking build that @fig

Very neat looking topside I've got this thing about box film caps all being straight and inline with each other yours look square rule perfect

I'll overlook the 2 bottom 100ns being almost there on this occasion only

I'll put it down to camera angle

But only coz you're a good guy most people would get a severe slap on the head for such a transgression

Thanks! I think the wiring is atrocious, there's flux all over the breakout, some of the resistors are backwards or upside-down, the diode leads were obviously not bent properly, and C2 looks like the leaning tower of Pisa (very odd place Pisa...).

When I looked at it the first thing I noticed were the nice straight caps I'm such a sad individual I'd rather destroy a pad repositioning it than have a misaligned film cap

BTW you missed yer chance to give me pelters......

They're 10ns ain't they haha

Sad? I usually hold the board in one hand with my finger on the top...touch the iron to the lead-side and move it until I'm happy. Sometimes it takes too long and my finger lets me know it.

What's a few farads between friends?

I sort of did that for the Low Tide, lining up the caps, but it was more important to me to have them sitting flush with the PCB — so due to manufacturing tolerances being sloppy, not all my Low Tide's caps are in perfect alignment. Then there's the 1/2w resistors...

Low Tide....slowly I turn....step by step...inch by inch....I still haven't traced my issue (my 'no schematic' excuse kinda evaporated when it became available). It lay unboxed in a collection (hey...don't judge...it's a small one) of misfit toys. Maybe I'll start a fix fig's figamajigs thread? [yes....let THEM fix it Tim!...great idea....shhh they can read this you idiot!]

Yeah a few showers here and there, likely for a week or so
