Headphones & need a new pedal to build...

I have been looking at building a simple headphone amp for my board and remembered I had an old Rolls sitting around from the studio days. Holy shit, with the Supro Trem on but zeroed out the added warmth makes headphones sound almost legit. I can now play at night when the little one goes to bed.

I really need a new pedal project to work on, any suggestions for someone has already built everything they wanted but still just wants to build pedals? I have also been looking at Moog Schematics, SAVE ME before its too late...

Are you going from pedals straight to headphone amp? If so, maybe. your next pedal should be a cabinet simulator.

Yes, right out of the board to the Rolls to headphones, sounds pretty good which was a surprise. I will have to look into some Cab sims.

Yep, that's always the story.
Been waiting on some stuff, and trying not to create new needs in the meantime (almost succeeded there, only one more pedal added...)
 
you can also detour into exploring lesser known effects. the build docs at deadendfx have some info about the pedals. I used their board to build a slightly modified version of the Wylie Moonrock that is interesting. The deadendfx boards are generously sized and usually call for a larger enclosure than would be needed with a more efficient layout like we see at pedalpcb, but there are some interesting boards there that may not turn up elsewhere. The vero suggestion is also spot on, since there are some layouts available for less-known out-of-production projects and a fair number of runoffgroove designs too.

I know there's different headphone amp schems floating on the interweb, but if you have on you've used and can recommend, I'd be interested.

BTR -- I did not make the connection here with your earlier threads --- still not sure why that vero layout would not work for you. Did you try the CMOY Headphone Amp that I linked in that thread? I have not tried the MXR build, but I did build one of the CMOY amps a number of years ago and it worked really well. That would also be another good option.

Dude, this is cool. Even though I have the Rolls which is perfectly fine, this gives me something to perf build as I think I have all the spare parts.

It also seems totally doable to include this tiny board inside with the Cab sim board and have a two in one pedal like JamieJ is talking about.
