So.... Just a storm, what's the big deal about? I thought I'd make this picture since they're worth 1000 words...

They're saying that Palm Desert is going to be The Palm Sea! I'm in a safer area, only supposed to have about 60mph winds and a couple inches of rain.

I was almost expecting a fox news joke with that title...
Serious note, people were concerned about the Salton Sea drying up, might put a few inches in for a couple years. Could also shift randomly and soak AZ being that far south yet.

well I did hear a joke that any deaths from the hurricane were to be labeled as suicides 🤪

I'm currently in Joshua Tree, my wife and I were watching the action behind the mountains this evening. We're heading back to Orange County in the morning, hopefully beating out most of the rain.

It got really still a couple of hours ago (currently 12:30). Kinda eerie. The rain all seems to have been pushed back as well.

Looking south:

Pfffffff......just an afternoon thunder shower for us Floridian..... :ROFLMAO:

(Seriously though, stay safe everyone.....)
Meanwhile in Florida...

I've spent a lot of time down there visiting my sister in law in Tampa to know the accuracy of this 🤣

too soon to know whether you'll need booze or food and water ... said the guy from Florida in the middle of hurricane season
you guys got Waffle House in southern California?
From my experiences, Waffle House stops at the north western TN border. In the Midwest, they go to Taco Bell after midnight. 🤢🤢 I don’t know about SoCal.

The stillness is weird. How do birds know a storm is coming???

I've been to some in Kansas and Missouri ... not nearly as thick as they are down here

We mostly have IHOP but there's 2 here in SoCal. Both too far to drive for breakfast for me tho... plus I have a serious allergy to eggs, so there goes 99% of the good stuff. My normal BP is about 112/60, when I have eggs it goes to 145/95, I get frequent stomach cramps and my nose glues shut.

I had eggs and bacon for breakfast just about every day of my life, it came as a big shock when I was 65 that they were messing with me. :-(

This whole thing came as a surprise, wind season is usually after harvest, Thanksgiving day like clockwork. I have 12' tall plants that are not supported or wrapped with trellis netting and I shudder to think what may happen.

Those trees! Love 'em! My orchard got the crap knocked out of it this year by hail. Still going strong though. I'd have to figure out some rigging for protecting those beauts you got going on until Oct.

We used to have a bunch of Waffle Houses here in Indiana, but they were more the Denny’s style and not like a diner with the counter. Denny’s is where we used to hang out until 3am drinking coffee and smoking cloves. I don’t think I’ve step foot inside either in 25 years.
