The Eagles are dinosaurs. Other birds may be but I like them. We have kookaburras, magpies, wattle birds, South African doves, crows, willy wagtails, owls, Carnaby's cockatoos, pink and grey cockatoos, rainbow lorikeets, 28s, sulphur crested cockatoos and several other species I don't know the names of flitting through our small backyard. I love 'em all (except the stupid SA doves).
I once drove through a flock of emus with a geologist in a 4WD outside of Wiluna. They ran alongside the car for some distance - I don't know why! That same trip I photographed wedge tailed eagles (not the annoying Californian type) on rehab hills. We have some cool birdlife here.
